Global Furniture cares a lot about your privacy. We therefore only process data that we need for (improving) our services and we handle the information we have collected about you and your use of our services with care.
We never make your data available to third parties for commercial purposes.
This privacy policy applies to the use of the website and the services provided by Global Furniture. The starting date for the validity of these conditions is 31/05/2018, with the publication of a new version, the validity of all previous versions is canceled. This privacy policy describes which data about
you is collected by us, what this data is used for and with whom and under what conditions this data can possibly be shared with third parties. We also explain to you how we store your data and how we protect your data against misuse and what rights you have with regard to the personal data you provide us.

About the data processing

Below you can read how we process your data, where we save it, what security techniques we use and for whom the data is viewable.

The data that we collect:

Customer data: including your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address.
Contact: If you ask a question via our email support, we will save you contact details and the contents of the mail. If you ask a question over the telephone, we will not record and store this conversation.
Website visit and e-mails: information about the time you visit us, from which device and whether you open an e-mail and click on a link.

Why we collect your data

We think it is important that you can use our services properly. For example, if you want to log in to our site to view your orders or view your invoices. In addition, we want to improve our own services and assist you even better. We also use data such as; how much traffic there is on our systems and in which fashion you visit our website.

Global Furniture only processes personal data to provide our services. We store data to deliver, create an account, invoice and communicate with you in the context of that service. We also need your data when processing questions, complaints and recoveries. With an order we create a unique invoice number that is linked to your account.

Retention of data:

Retention of inactive accounts: 6 months (Inactive accounts are accounts that have not logged on or placed an order for the specified duration. These will be deleted, and all orders will be converted to guest orders.)
Retention of pending orders: 15 days (pending orders are unpaid and may have been abandoned by the customer and will be deleted after the specified duration).
Retention of unsuccessful orders: 1 day (Failed orders are not paid and can be specified by the customer. These will be deleted after the specified duration.)
Retention of canceled orders: 15 days (Canceled orders have not been paid and may have been canceled by the store’s customer and will be deleted after the specified duration.)
Retention of completed orders: 7 years (Retention of completed orders for a specified duration before the personal data within the order is made anonymous.)

Data security

We monitor and secure all our products and services visibly and invisibly against misuse and fraud. For example, our website has an SSL certificate and we use an antivirus and firewall solution for our website.

Data leaks

All data leaks are reported to the Meldloket datalekken Authority Personal Data.

Webshop software

WooCommerce

Our webshop is developed with software by WooCommerce, we host our web store on a server under our own management. We have taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent abuse, loss and corruption of data as much as possible. These security measures consist in any case of the application
SSL encryption and a strong password policy. Backups are regularly made to prevent data loss.

Web hosting

We take web hosting and e-mail services from SiteGround. SiteGround processes
personal data on our behalf and does not use your data for its own purposes. However, this party can collect metadata about the use of the services. These are not personal data.
SiteGround has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent loss and unauthorized use of your personal data. SiteGround is vowed to secrecy by virtue of the confidentiality agreement.

E-mail and mailing lists

Laposta

Our website uses Laposta, a third party that handles the e-mail traffic of our newsletters. All confirmation emails you receive from our website and web forms are sent via the Siteground servers. Laposta will never use your name and email address for your its own purposes. At the bottom of every e-mail sent automatically via our website you will see the ‘unsubscribe’ link. If you click here you will no longer receive e-mail from our website. Your personal data are stored securely by Laposta. Laposta uses cookies and other internet technologies that make it clear whether e-mails are opened and read. Laposta reserves the right to use your data for the further improvement of their service and to share information with third parties.

SiteGround

We use the services of Siteground for our regular business e-mail traffic. This party has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent abuse, loss and corruption of your and our data as much as possible. Siteground has no access to our mailbox and we handle all our email traffic confidentially.

Payment processors

Mollie

We use the Mollie platform to handle a (part of) the payments in our webshop. Mollie processes your name, address and residence details as well as your payment details such as your bank account or credit card number. Mollie has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. Mollie reserves the right to use your data to further improve the service and to share (anonymised) data with third parties. All the above-mentioned safeguards with regard to the protection of your personal data also applys to the parts of Mollie’s services for which they engage third parties. Mollie does not store your data for longer than is permitted by the legal terms.

Reviews

Kiyoh

We collect reviews via the Kiyoh platform. If you leave a review via Kiyoh then you are obliged to provide your name, place of residence and e-mail address. Kiyoh shares this information with us so that we can link the review to your order. Kiyoh also publishes your name and place of residence on our own website. In some cases, Kiyoh may contact you to provide an explanation of your review. In case we invite you to leave a review we share your name and e-mail address with Kiyoh. They only use this information for the purpose of inviting you to leave a review. Kiyoh has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. Kiyoh reserves the right to engage third parties for the provision of services, for this we have give Kiyoh
permission. All the above-mentioned safeguards with regard to the protection of your personal data also apply to the parts of Kiyoh’s services for which they engage third parties. Kiyoh will retain your personal data as long as you keep the review published on the platform. Kiyoh has a Data Protection Officer appointed, you will find the contact details of this officer on the Kiyoh website.

Shipping and logistics

DHL

If you place an order with us, it is our job to have your package delivered to you. We use the services of DHL to carry out the deliveries. It is therefore necessary that we share your name, address and residential details with DHL. DHL only uses this information for the purpose of executing the agreement. In the event that DHL engages subcontractors, DHL will also provide your details to this party under the same protection.

Global Furniture

If you place an order with us, it is our job to have your package delivered to you. We also use our own delivery service to carry out the deliveries. It is therefore necessary that we can use your name, address and residence details. We only use this information for the purpose of executing the agreement.

Purpose of data processing

General purpose of the processing

We only use your data for the benefit of our own services. This means that the purpose of the processing is always directly related to the assignment you provide. We do not use your data for (targeted) marketing. If you share information with us and we use this information to contact you at a later date – other than at your request – we will ask you explicitly for acceptance. Your information will not be shared with third parties, other than to comply with accounting and other administrative obligations. These third parties have all been kept confidential on the basis of the agreement between them and us, an oath or legal obligations.

Automatically collected data

Data that is automatically collected by our website is processed with the aim of further improving our services. This information (eg your IP address, web browser and operating system) is not considered personal data.

Participation in tax and criminal investigation

As the occasion arises, Global Furniture can be held responsible on the basis of a legal obligation to share your data in connection with government tax or criminal investigations. In such a case, we are forced to share your information, but we will do so within the possibilities that the law offers us to resist.

Retention periods

We will keep your information as long as you are our client. This means that we keep your customer profile until you indicate that you no longer wish to use our services. If you indicate this to us, we will also consider this as a request for dissolving the information. On the basis of applicable administrative obligations, we must keep invoices with your (personal) data, so we will keep this data for as long as the applicable term runs.
However, employees no longer have access to your client profile and documents that we have produced in connection with your assignment.

Your rights

On the basis of the applicable Dutch and European legislation, you as a data subject have certain rights with regard to the personal data that are processed by or on behalf of us. We explain below which rights these are and how you can invoke these rights. In principle, in order to prevent abuse, we will send transcripts and copies of your data only to your already known e-mail address. In the event that you wish to receive the data at a different e-mail address or for example by mail, we will ask you to identify yourself. We keep records of completed requests in the case of a dissolving request we administer anonymous data. All transcripts and copies of data you receive are in the readable data format that we use within our systems. You have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority at any time if you suspect that we are using your personal data in the wrong way.

If your request is granted, we will send you a confirmation that the details have been changed on the e-mail address known to us.

You always have the right to restrict the data that we process or have related to your person or that can be traced back to this. You can submit a request to that effect to our privacy contact person. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you a confirmation to the e-mail address known to us that the data, until you cancel the restriction, will no longer be processed.

Right of transferability

You always have the right to have the data that we process or have processed and that relate to your person or that can be traced back to you, transferred to another party. You can submit a request to that effect to our privacy contact person. You will receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is approved
we will send you an email at the e-mail address known to us confirming the transfer. In this case however, we can not guarantee the safety of the information channels, which might mean that we can not continue our services to you.

Right of objection and other rights

You allways have the right to object to the processing of your personal data by or on behalf of Global Furniture. If you object, we will immediately stop the data processing pending the settlement of your objection. If your objection is well-founded, we will provide copies and / or copies of its data that we (let) process at your disposal and then permanently discontinue the processing.
